Part Two
Dear Freddy,
I read your message yesterday and I am both happy and sad to hear about your dreams. It’s funny how we pray and work for dreams we cannot truly understand from a distance.
I read your writings, some are sad, tinged with regret. We all have those emotions and as an artist (yes I consider you an artist) you focus on those as an inspiration.
I remember those days very fondly and there are times I confess to traveling back in time just as a respite. Dreams are funny, right?
We think our dreams are the answers to our inner needs and wants, when in the end the dreams are simply scenes from a psycho drama. Similar to the movie, “Vertigo” where Jimmy Stewart’s character dreams of an idealized version of the woman he “fell in love” with. Well, you know how that ends, we watched that movie together a couple of times.
I think what I am saying is we idealize the past because we can. People and memories, in truth are never what we choose to believe them to be. But it’s comforting to travel back there once in a while.
A part of each of us will always have love for us. I am happy you have found your happiness and that real life has far exceeded your reel life.
Love always….
