I used to play a game with my kids called, “opposite day.”
Everything we said would be the opposite. For example, we would say , “I don’t like you,” which meant, “I love you.”
I think you get the gist of the idea.
Lately this world has become, “opposite day,” everyday and it’s confusing to this old man.
It is a tragic and disturbing reality that we live in a world where heinous crimes like attacks, rape, decapitation, and torture can be committed against hundreds of innocent people, and yet the response from some individuals is to sympathize with the perpetrators rather than the victims.
Rape?
A baby placed in an oven while the mother, who is pregnant, is raped, forced to watch her child die in the oven and then has her stomach cut open and the unborn baby pulled out.
What ever happened to the #metoo movement?
What ever happened to the empowerment of women movement?
Where is Alysa Milano?
Where are the former first ladies,
Hilary, Barbara, Melania and the current one, Jill?
Where is Gloria Steinem?
Where is Anita Hill?
Where is Amanda Nguyen?
Where is Tarana Burke?
Where is the voice of NOW? (National organization for women).
The voices of RAIN?
The power of Amnesty International?
Where are the calls for freeing the hostages? Almost 6 months and still no outcry?
Where are the religious leaders of each religion? Why is the Pope silent?
I see the thousand’s of ignorant people, filled with obvious hatred for the Jewish people, marching and chanting, “death to the Jews.” All around the world.
Educational systems where excuses, rationalizations and understanding are taught about the acts of October 7th.
Nazi salutes in the halls of a high school in Brooklyn. In Brooklyn!
All of the Ivy League Universities are on the wrong side of humanity and are teaching while wearing the skin of the devil’s children.
Historically, Israel has been attacked, has fought back and could have obliterated their attackers. Instead, the world called for a ceasefire. In every war that the modern day Israel has been involved in, they were attacked, they fought back as they were winning, they were told to stop. And each time they stopped it led to the next war.
Israel has given up land for peace and all it has done for them is lead to what happened on October 7th.
There should be no ceasefire until the final terrorist who were involved in October 7th are burned to a crisp.
Jewish people pray for peace. And every greeting, it’s “peace,” “שלום”. It’s the last sentence we recite in our prayers.
It’s how we live.
Creating a better world is what the Jewish religion is all about. Valuing each human life as our own is who we are.
Whenever a world catastrophe takes place Israel is always the first country to offer its assistance.
Israel was the first nation to send assistance to Turkey and Syria after the 2023 earthquake. Only for President Erdogan to call for Israel to be tried for war crimes. Compared Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Hitler.
Why do we help?
It could be that the Jewish kryptonite is their value for human lives.
The war after October 7th could have been finished in one day. But Israel values the life of each person, even in the enemy’s territory where the barbarians marched through with the body of a dead Jewish girl who had been raped over and over again. They cheered and cried out, “Allah Akbar”, god is great in celebration.
It’s heartbreaking, unconscionable to see the response the world has had.
Perhaps it’s time to ease up on the values we hold so close to our hearts. Perhaps it’s time to go against our sense of humanity and finish off our enemies once and for all.
Other than Robert Kraft, not one billionaire, or millionaire, has given money to fight hatred. Jew or gentile.
It’s eye opening.
Never forget means to never forget the non Jewish people who stood by us.
The friends who texted or called up to ask how we were doing.
The non Jewish friends who just could not find the time to text us.
I won’t forget.
