For the past 8 years or so, insults have become the only way some people know how to respond to threats or challenges.
The other day I read a post on Instagram. It was about an anti Jewish, Pro Hamas group taunting Jews on the street in New York.
One of the Jewish people responded. But rather than rightly identify the person as a supporter of rape, infanticide, murder and hostage takers. He called her a fat person who should stop eating donuts.
When I told him to not stoop to that level of insulting and that the truth was way worse than fat shaming some idiot. I was met with a chorus of people calling me names and championing the man who was so proud of his behavior, that he posted it online.
Listen to the political followers and they are constantly mimicking their leaders. Insulting the cerebral palsy reporter, calling the soldiers who died in battle, “losers” and who tried to cause a revolution against democracy because they didn’t get what they wanted.
It seems that the followers love the insulting rhetoric that they have even repeated as if it were their own.
Insults.
Why can’t people talk, scream or protest while using the truth to further their cause or debunk their challengers?
Wouldn’t the truth have a bigger impact?
Rather than make fun of Kamala Harris’ laugh, point to the fact that her step daughter is raising money for Hamas. (Don’t you believe the one second that the money is going to help the innocent).
Has our ability to fight evil been so compromised that all we can do is hurl insults about someone’s physical appearance?
Especially when there are much worse truths and reasons to vilify.
People protesting against the Jewish people are clueless.
When you rely on social media and memes for your news, it’s no wonder their minds are so small and their facts so distorted.
Here’s a little education.
Before joining the ranks of Hamas and Islamic extremists, (by protesting on the streets and calling for another October 7th, burning the American flag and taking the facts reported by hamas as the truth, congratulations! You are now a member of Hamas).
Social media can bring about a lot of good. Raising awareness for actual victims of diseases, mental illnesses, abuse and against terrorism. Reuniting old friends and family, making new friends.
But in the hands of the small minded generation, who have taken a disgusting video of a girl and made it viral, what more can one expect?
There are good people who want to believe good is the only way to combat evil. They have their minds and hearts out of sync.
We all want peace, no starvation and no sicknesses. You can sing all the songs you want and hold hands while reciting Kumbaya in the temples of your choice. But that won’t bring about peace and harmony.
In order to embrace good, you must first destroy evil.
Question everything, even the “facts” you believe to be true.
Question your teachers, parents and friends.
Stay away from following politicians and celebrities blindly. They all just want the spotlight.
When you stoop to the level of the simple minded, you become an enabler and a meme quoting moron.
Strive to improve yourself, and in doing so, you’ll contribute to rebuilding this tattered planet into a better world where hope for peace and harmony have a better chance of surviving.
