We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.
Winston Churchill

On June 12th 3 Israeli students hitchhiking home for the weekend were kidnapped. Hamas was blamed for the kidnapping which ended when the bodies of Naftali Fraenkel, 16, who also held US citizenship, Gil-Ad Shaer,16, and Eyal Yifrah, 19 were found. They were each shot at at least 10 times in what an American investigator called, “Pre-meditated” killings.

This is not the first time that terror has come from Gaza.

Since Israel withdrew from Gaza (They didn’t just withdraw they uprooted families, businesses, synagogues and lives forcibly – leaving a good number of the Israelis homeless or in low class accommodations) with the hope for peace – over 12,000 rockets have been fired into Israel with the sole purpose of causing the death and destruction. Suicide bombers explode with the sole purpose of causing as many casualties as possible – placing bullets, nails and other pointed shrapnel to hurt as many “Jews” as possible.

Israel is surrounded by countries who teach their children to kill Jews and be rewarded by Allah.

This is what Israel is up against. But the hardest part of being Israel is the constant threat of attack.

Sirens go off at all times – children running, parents scrambling making sure no one is left behind.

Rockets constantly being launched into Israel by the terrorists who claim to be just and righteous.

War is hell.

Soldiers in their or barely out of their teenage years are forced to defend their homeland – their families, their lives. Death comes visiting way too often in Israel. Death that is caused by haters who can never understand what it is to love. Haters who can never grasp freedom, democracy or equality.

Israel is attacked 12 thousand times in 9 years. 3285 days – 3 rockets on average per day.

Would any country restrain themselves if attacked even once?

Would a home owner put up with a kid throwing a rock at their home?

Israel, once the 3 kids were kidnapped and murdered decided enough was enough.

A miracle happened.

Rockets shot into Israel were missing their mark or being intercepted by Israel defense system called the “Iron Dome.” Or as one of the captured terrorists said, “Their God changes the path of our rockets in mid air.”

When Israeli forces entered into Gaza on foot they began to see the real plans laid out by Hamas and the Palestinians.

Rockets were being launched from Mosques, Schools, Homes and Palestinian children and women were being used to shield the terrorists. They did this, according to Hamas and other captives – to ensure that the world would sympathize with the Palestinians and call the Jews “Murderers.” That has worked.

But the most important aspect of the operation was the discovery of “Tunnels.” Tunnels that cost in the millions to create that were built underground and connected Gaza to Israel.

The plan was for thousands of Palestinians to go through the tunnels into Israel – they were to enter through kibbutz – and begin to kill as many Jews as possible through suicide bombings, shooting and God knows what else. The full information has not been released yet but what is known is the timing of this. They were planning on infiltrating on Rosh Hashanah – to catch the Jews off guard.

From the New York Times (of all places)

The tunnels can be up to 90 feet underground and reinforced with concrete, a scarce commodity in Gaza, where most imports of construction material are banned by Israel except for internationally supervised projects. The material — the military estimates 600,000 tons — may have come through different smuggling tunnels from Egypt or have been diverted from its intended purpose.

The lack of concrete for building has left many Gazans unable to rebuild their homes and hampered construction projects that provide Gazans with jobs.

In March, the Israeli military uncovered what it called “the most advanced tunnel,” which stretched hundreds of yards into its territory from the Gaza Strip and could have been used to attack or capture Israelis. Though the tunnel did not reach an Israeli town or village, Colonel Lerner said, “it wasn’t that far — a quick sprint and you could attack a community.”

People protest against war, sing and pray against wars. In a perfect world we can all live side by side without hatred and in peace. This world is far from perfect. Sometimes a war must be fought for good to conquer evil. For home to be a safe haven.

This war is a war that is just. Some times War is necessary to create a true peace.

As Winston Churchill Said…

We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.
