We take so much for granted.
The people around us we treasure, we forget how quickly, the sights, the sounds, the aroma of her, the feel of her skin, the taste…
That first cup of coffee in the morning, that sense of excitement for a new day, the evenings with a full moon and the sounds of summer. The sound of a snowstorm blowing through the trees, the silence that follows.
The diamond and the green grass, the blue skies and the sounds of a ball hitting a bat.
The look of a child as they gently hold your hand.
The breath we take, the internal miracles which keep us alive without us even trying.
Gratitude, we forget to express, too often. We are too busy making it through the day to realize just how much we have to be thankful for.
Time…that slips away like sand through your hands. One moment you are 7, the next you are 14, the next moment you are turning 60 and you have no idea of what happened in between. You remember the events, but cannot calculate just where the time went.
Gratitude, it’s not so simple.
We want more, we expect more, we need more…
In lucid moments we look around and smile, but in swirls of amnesia, we forget. Time rolls on…
Time, love, gratitude…
