It’s a one-way street. We walk down we limp, sometimes we jump, at other times we simply amble.

We try not to look back, even though time seems to be creeping up on us. Something that an old pitcher once said.

We keep our thoughts to ourselves and we try not to grimace in front of others, when the pain goes up your leg or the stress overwhelms your head.

Our hearts keep beating. What else can it do? We keep walking up this one way street.

We don’t want to exit too soon, we want to be able to take in the sights and the sounds of the birds, and watch the leaves falling to the ground, or the buds blossoming on the branches.

We watch the other people walking beside us, we sometimes forget that we need to treasure them.

We try to walk alone at times because sometimes we just need to be alone, you know?

We don’t want to be alone too much, so as we walk, we want to hold hands, we want, we need to embrace others as a means to live.

We try and control our thoughts from too many sentiments about broken bridges and broken dreams and broken promises.

We hope it’s a long road but sometimes the roads can seem so damn long when it’s dark with no lights ahead.

When the snow falls you try to appreciate the beauty. Beware of beauty it can trip you up or cause you to fall, it can be worth the risk at times.

The rain falls and it can make one feel so cold and alone, yet the rain, you know, makes the flowers grow.

My mom told me,

“There are times when it feels like there is no hope but I promise things will always work out in the end.”
