You once felt so confined, you discarded your true self for realities that you found hard to accept.
You never cowered, you stood tall and did what needed to be done. You always did your best and you never ran into the corner to hide.
I see you in the reflection, covering your eyes and downcast.
Who are you?

The old man told me over and over that anything is possible and I always laughed.
The old lady always believes in my dreams more than anyone else.

As we go through life we find ourselves faced with decisions. It’s a fine line between hope and naivete. I’ve been in situations where I had to literally swallow my pride over and over again to keep a job. When you have a family and bills to pay, you have no choice.
Sometimes I would look myself in the mirror and wonder what the hell went wrong?
I went along for the ride, smiling like an idiot in the back seat, never included in the conversations being had in the front.  I refuse to sit in the back anymore – I get sick there.
I will sit behind the wheel from now on.
I am ready to prove to myself my own worth.

You once felt so confined, you discarded your true self for realities that you found hard to accept.
You never cowered, you stood tall and did what needed to be done. You always did your best and you never ran into the corner to hide.
I see you in the rearview mirror covering your eyes and downcast.
Believe…God is within and across everything and everywhere we touch and see. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and you will see.
